It’s far more difficult to influence a person’s intrinsic sense of right and wrong by organisational governance if elements of that governance conflict with the basic cultural values instilled in staff during their childhood. For the modern business with staff born and raised in multiple countries, establishing alignment between compliance initiatives and the various cultural influences in play is a challenge.
The Solutions
IT2's Security Awareness Content services compare characteristics of the deep cultural trends and triggers of the corporate headquarters with those evident in other offices. Differences in these characteristics indicate differences in preferred learning styles, leadership styles and in assumptions about the source of validity for authority. We then work with clients to adjust the delivery of existing security awareness content per office in line with these indicative differences.
Our Deep Culture Assessment tool points out different underlying cultural attitudes and values which are most likely to cause issues when work devices are taken home. We work with clients to tailor outreach programmes and related governance to address the related unintended and malicious insider threat risk.
